Who We Are

What We Collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:
- Name — shown to your group members
- Email address — used as your account identifier
- Profile photo — shown as your avatar in the app
- Google User ID (UID) — used to secure your data
We also collect data you add to the app:
- Trip names, dates and group details
- Packing list items
- Expense entries and amounts
- Itinerary stops and notes
How We Use Your Data
- To identify you within your travel groups
- To sync trip data across devices in real time
- To display your name and photo to group members
- We never sell your data to any third party
- We never use your data for advertising
- We never share your email with other users
Who Can See Your Data
- Your name and photo are visible to members of your trip groups
- Your email is visible to members of your trip groups
- Your data is not visible to anyone outside your groups
- Trip data is protected by Firebase security rules requiring authentication
Data Storage & Security
- All data stored on Google Firebase (Firestore) — encrypted at rest and in transit
- Authentication handled by Google Sign-In — we never see your Google password
- Access controlled by Firebase Security Rules — only authenticated group members can read/write group data
- Servers located in Google Cloud (Mumbai region for India)
Data Deletion
You have full control over your data:
- Remove from a group: Tap the delete icon on any trip in home screen
- Delete your account: Account → Delete Account — permanently removes all your data from Firebase
- Request deletion: Email [email protected] and we will delete within 30 days
Third Party Services
- Google Sign-In — authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Firebase / Firestore — database and storage
- Cloudflare Pages — web hosting
Children
Trip Shrip is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Major changes will be communicated via the app.
